![]() In season 1, El Misterio de la Calle de Cervantes, we follow the story of three roommates living in Madrid after they hear strange noise coming from the flat upstairs - and from that moment on, chaos and craziness ensue! Then, in season 2, Errores Fosilizados, our hosts look at common Spanish mistakes that can trip you up as you’re learning the language. There are two seasons, each with different angles on language learning. Palabras Bravasīabbel’s own language experts have produced a podcast just for Spanish learners. The hosts also keep their conversations fun and lively, so you’re unlikely to get bored and zone out. The pair discusses a variety of topics, ranging from online dating to Venezuela’s economic crisis, in an effort to increase your vocabulary and improve your listening comprehension. If you’re an intermediate Spanish speaker, a good podcast option is Españolistos, hosted by a Colombian Spanish Teacher and her American fiancé. The hosts also mix in notes on grammar and pronunciation as they come up in context, making the entire experience very useful for Spanish learners. Once you learn some basic Spanish, listen to this podcast to reinforce your knowledge and help you get a sense of how the language sounds. The aptly-named podcast features discussions of current news stories in Spanish, but spoken slowly and clearly so it’s easy for non-native speakers to understand. ![]() ![]() It has two versions: one using Spanish as it’s spoken in Spain and the other focusing on Latin American Spanish. It may not sound riveting, but News in Slow Spanish is a great starting point if you’re a beginner. You can follow along on Catriona’s journey, with each episode focusing on a different aspect of the language, such as pronouns, verb conjugations and anything else you’ll need on your path to speaking Spanish with confidence. The hosts are Héctor, a native Spanish speaker, and Catriona, who is attempting to learn the language. This podcast is designed for beginner, making it a great place to start. Our first Spanish podcast comes from Babbel itself, A–Zero to A–Hero. Either way, you should definitely consider adding these Spanish podcasts to your playlist! A–Zero To A–Hero Some of them are targeted specifically at Spanish students, and others are simply really engaging podcasts that happen to be in Spanish. In this article, we give you an overview of some of the best Spanish podcasts for people learning the language. If anything, there are now too many podcasts to choose from. By now, it’s become clear that podcasts aren’t a fad that will start to disappear.

The government's winter plan describes NHS Test and Trace as "critical" to managing COVID during the upcoming months.Ĭontact-tracing will remain throughout autumn and winter and ministers will continue to encourage the use of the NHS COVID-19 app. The government's Antivirals Taskforce, launched by the prime minister in April, will also continue its search for other new antiviral drugs. Ministers will work with the NHS to ensure that a newly-approved antibody cocktail - as was partly used to treat former US president Donald Trump - is rolled out to patients as soon as possible. ![]() Meanwhile, separate to the booster jabs programme, the NHS will continue to offer a third vaccine dose to people aged 12 and over with severely weakened immune systems. There will also be an expansion of the vaccination programme to 12-15-year-olds, and the offer of booster jabs to the most vulnerable, frontline health and social care workers, and all over-50s. This includes encouraging those who are eligible to get jabs, but have not yet been vaccinated, to take up their offer. Primarily among ministers' plans are continuing and expanding the UK's vaccination programme. The government aims to avoid the return of stringent COVID restrictions this winter in a number of ways. Public Health England has estimated that more than 112,000 deaths, 143,000 hospitalisations and 24.5 million infections have been prevented so far as a result of the UK's COVID vaccination programme.įigures from the Office for National Statistics also show that almost 99% of COVID-19 deaths in the first half of this year were people who had not received both doses of a vaccine. However, there are also significant reasons to be positive ahead of the autumn and winter months. "So with that in mind, the aim of the game - the mantra - is to stay on top of things." "We know this winter could be bumpy at times and we know that winter viruses such as flu and RSV are highly likely to make their returns. However, we can reduce it," he added.Who will be first to get a COVID booster jab - and when will they get them?Īs England's deputy chief medical officer Professor Jonathan Van-Tam has warned: "We know that this pandemic is still active, we are not past the pandemic, we are in an active phase still. You cannot stop the infection because it's a worldwide phenomena. On that, Sudhakar said there is no need to worry about the positivity rate."It will go up but since we have inoculated a large number of people, the intensity will be low. Meanwhile, the positivity rate in Bengaluru is more than 5%. The cases nearly doubled in the last 24 hours. The state reported 4,246 new cases of the infection on Wednesday with a test positivity rate of 3.33%. He added that there is a stock of 64.27 lakh doses in the State. We are in the third place in the country in terms of first and second dose," Sudhakar said. "The vaccination coverage is much higher than the national average. Speaking about the vaccination drive in the State, he said the overall vaccination of first dose is 99% among the eligible population whereas the second dose vaccination coverage is 80%. In some cases, deaths may also occur, he warned. Though Omicron is not severe, the health minister said those who have not taken both doses of the vaccine would suffer. That much clarity the government has because it is working to protect the lives and interests of people," he added. "Complete lockdown is not a matter of consideration before the government. Now, we know how to treat a person with the infection." With that option, you give on the command line the root of your search tree (the starting directory) instead of the explicit list of filenames to examine. Nevertheless, a better solution would use the “recursive” option of grep. Don’t hesitate to use the comment section at the end of this article to share your ideas on that topic! :~$ grep -iL nashorn $(find npm/test/ -type f)Īs I mentioned in the comments in the code block above, each solution has drawbacks.Ĭoncerning filenames containing space-like characters, I let you investigate the grep -z option which, combined with the -print0 option of the find command, can mitigate that issue. # This may have issues with filenames containing space-like characters :~$ find npm/test/ -type f -exec grep -iL nashorn \ \ Neither it will match files (eventually) contained in sub-directories.Ī solution would be to combine grep with the find command instead of relying on a shell glob pattern: # This is not efficient as it will spawn a new grep process for each file However, this has some inherent limitations: the star ( *) will not match hidden files. The last two commands used a shell glob pattern to pass the list of files to examine to the grep command. Finding patterns into hidden files and recursively into sub-directories That does not mean they are not somehow related to that technology, but at least, the letters “n-a-s-h-o-r-n” are not present. So, none of the files above contain the string “nashorn” (regardless of the case). Notice how with the -L option the output of grep has changed to display only filenames. Find all the non-matching filesīy the way, is there some non-Nashorm specific files in the npm/test/ directory? To answer that question, we can use the “print non-matching files” option of grep ( -L option): sh$ grep -iL nashorn npm/test/* No doubt I should examine that file in greater details later. ![]() Otherwise, I would have missed the require('./module/nashorn') statement. Indeed, case insensitivity was useful here. That will ensure you obtain results perfectly identical to those described in the rest of this article: git clone You can download that source tree from GitHub, and if you want, you may even check out the same changeset I used when writing this article. So, I will use the Asciidoctor.js source tree to illustrate some of the grep capabilities. ![]() It is always better to have real-world examples to learn how things work. However, don’t be fooled by such humble definition: grep is one of the most useful tools in the Unix toolbox and there are countless occasions to use it as soon as you work with text files. (See Testing your patient’s response to pain.) Then watch for specific motor responses, as specified in the GCS. To assess motor response using the GCS, apply a painful or other noxious stimulus to a central part of the body for instance, use trapezius squeezing, supraorbital pressure, earlobe pinching, or a sternal rub. An unconscious patient is likely to open her eyes only in response to pain, if at all obviously, you can’t test her best verbal response at all. To determine if the patient is unconscious and unable to follow commands, use the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) to test eye opening, best motor response, and best verbal response. Once you’ve established that your patient is stable enough to assess, begin the neuro exam itself. Assess LOC, eye opening, and motor response Be aware that a temporary decline in neurologic status caused by insufficient oxygenation or circulation still represents a neurologic change-and leads to permanent neurologic loss unless the underlying problem is corrected. Ideally, you should conduct the neuro exam when the patient’s blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and heart rhythm are normal. To appropriately assess the patient’s peak neurologic status, be sure to evaluate oxygenation and circulation. Next, check vital signs: Are her respirations adequate? Are her vital signs stable? Is her blood pressure high enough to perfuse the brain and other vital organs? Be aware that current or progressive injury to the brain and brain stem may make vital signs unstable, but this situation can be complex: Although unstable vital signs can reduce neurologic response, brain injury itself may cause unstable vital signs. ![]() Ask yourself: Is the airway patent? Yet despite the relative brevity of this type of exam, it can yield a significant amount of information. If your patient can’t follow commands, you’ll be able to assess only the pupils, eye opening, motor response, and some of the cranial nerves. If she can, your exam can be more comprehensive and should include evaluation of: The type of neuro exam you conduct depends on whether your patient can follow commands. It starts the moment you meet the patient. The neuro exam can be conducted quickly and is easy to integrate into your daily assessment. One reason may be that, unlike CT scans and other diagnostic tools, its results come in shades of gray, not black and white. Although it’s still an integral assessment component for critically ill patients, many bedside nurses overlook or underuse it. Subtle changes in findings may indicate the need for further testing.īefore the advent of computed tomography (CT) in the 1970s, the neurologic examination was the main tool used to monitor a patient’s neurologic condition. But once you become proficient in performing this exam, you’ll be able to detect early significant changes in a patient’s condition-in some cases, even before these show up on more advanced diagnostic tests. A second classification system was proposed by Rettig and Raskin in 2001 which classifies the fracture based on the distance from the distal radioulnar joint, >7.5 cm or 7.5 cm from the articular surface and only one of them was shown to intraoperative instability of the DRUJ. There have been several classification systems to classify Galeazzi fracture dislocation, the first was described by Walsh et al. The dorsal and volar radioulnar ligaments of the TFCC also are paramount to maintain stability of the ulna and they are the main stabilizers of the DRUJ within the TFCC (Figure (Figure4) 4). Furthermore, the main stabilizer of the distal radioulnar joint is the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) which originates between the sigmoid notch and the lunate fossa on the radius, and inserts on the ulnar styloid and the fovea. The abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis exert a shortening force upon the distal radius, the pronator quadratus muscle also exerts a rotational force, and finally the brachioradialis pulls the distal radius fragment proximally (Figures (Figures2, 2, ,3) 3). A number of deforming muscular forces are exerted on the distal radius. ![]() The IOM has the following functions that are of biomechanical importance: 1) Load transfer from the radius to the ulna, 2) Load transfer from wrist joint to the elbow, 3) Maintains a stable DRUJ, 4) Maintains forearm stability throughout range of motion. The IOM is a relatively weak attachment to the distal one third of the radius which may predispose it to subsequent shortening if an injury occurs through it. The radius and ulna are held together by the interosseous membrane (IOM) which is composed of the following: the proximal cords, accessory bands, distal band and finally the central band which is the strongest component of the IOM (Figure (Figure1).
